I have been getting more of a feel for the full-arm movements necessary to make the majorscules. I has always given me trouble in terms of balance; I have a tendency to not lean the character over enough to the right, as well as extend the horizontal curve too far to the right. One thing I’ve noticed is the importance of having “confidence” in your strokes. It’s something necessary when doing shodo as well. Hairlines and shading both require confidence or they will become wobbly messes. Unfortunately, getting that confidence takes time. So for now, wobbly messes it is.
